What is Title I?

Title I is a federally funded program designed to help all students meet challenging academic standards. Sargent Central Public School District operates a Title I Schoolwide Program focused on improving student achievement through evidence-based instruction, interventions, parent and family engagement, and ongoing school improvement efforts.

The district utilizes Title I funding to support instructional services, intervention supports, curriculum resources, and parent and family engagement activities.

Parent and Family Engagement

Sargent Central Public School District believes parents and families are important partners in student success. The district encourages parents and families to be actively involved in their child’s education through communication, conferences, meetings, school activities, and engagement opportunities.

Annual Title I Meeting

The district conducts an annual Title I meeting to provide information regarding:

  • The Title I Schoolwide Program

  • Curriculum and instructional programming

  • Assessments and student progress

  • Parent rights and opportunities for involvement

  • Parent and family engagement activities

  • Information regarding meeting dates and times will be shared through district communication methods.

Stakeholder Consultation

Sargent Central Public School District consults with parents, staff, administration, school board members, and other stakeholders regarding the development, implementation, review, and revision of the Title I Schoolwide Program.

Stakeholder consultation opportunities may include:

  • Back-to-School Open House

  • Parent-teacher conferences

  • Annual Spring Review Meeting

  • Surveys and feedback opportunities

  • School board and strategic planning discussions

Schoolwide Program Information

The district implements evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to support student achievement. Curriculum and instructional supports may include:

  • Superkids Reading Program

  • Corrective Reading

  • Reveal Math

  • Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)

  • Small group instruction and interventions

  • Progress monitoring and data review

Parent Right-to-Know Information

Parents have the right to request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s classroom teachers and paraprofessionals.
